Felt bad closing the issue without anything actionable, so tried to improve the documentation a bit. It's still perhaps unclear that
local_bookmarksandremote_bookmarksmust use the actual methods to get the coloring (the labels are not added automatically based on bookmark state), but I don't know about calling them out specifically. As always, open to wording suggestions or alternatives.
